Himanshu Ardawatia is an award-winning entrepreneur who grew up in India and lives in Bergen, Norway. He has several years of research and consulting experience in pharma-biotech, alternative energy and sustainability / environment sectors. He currently focuses on sustainability and strategies for sustainable business growth. He has been instrumental in designing and developing world-class corporate sustainability reporting systems and genome analysis platforms. Himanshu is ardent about sustainable development, renewable energy, environment and education. He is of the strong belief that inter-cultural understanding can play a significant role in sustainable development with global expertise and local execution.
John Correa leads Information Technology for Grow Movement. He is skilled in technology strategy, business development and technical leadership to motivate change and foster innovation.
Founder & Advisor
Chris witnessed the impact of conflict and extreme poverty on children in post-civil war Mozambique when he was eighteen. He has believed ever since that the struggle to end conflict and extreme poverty is the defining moral issue of our time. Chris initially worked in London as a hedge fund manager before founding Grow Movement with Violet Kobusingye, a former refugee from the Rwandan genocide, when he saw the potential of mobile technology to fight poverty. Chris also served as an anti-terrorism officer for the British Foreign Service against ISIS. Chris holds a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a Masters in Finance from London Business School. In 2018 Chris was awarded the graduate of the last decade award by London Business School in recognition of his public service and Grow Movement’s work to improve the lives of people in the poorest communities on earth.
Mark Croft is a Trustee of Grow Movement. Mark is the founder and Managing Director of Clarus Consulting and has over 20 years’ experience working in consulting across various sectors. Prior to this, he spent over 8 years working mainly in retail having started out in engineering. During this time he was involved in acquisitions and post-merger integrations, as well as the development of new retailing concepts. Mark has considerable experience working with board level executives and leading major business and IT transformational programmes both in the UK and Europe. He has a MA in Information & Electronic Science from Cambridge University.
Paul has lived and worked in over 20 countries, and spent 4 years permanently based in the USA. His wife was born in Tanzania and his parents were early immigrants from India to the UK. Paul has extensive industry experience in business and IT, working in start-ups and global consultancies. As a consequence of his travels and experience he has gained invaluable insight from working in multi-cultural environments and fully appreciates that all our needs – from all walks of life – are more alike, than we sometimes care to believe. Respect and service is at the heart of understanding people. Only then can we strive to deliver results that will empower and enable and lift us all.
Laurent spent a year working as a Change Manager for Save the Children International on the ground in the DR Congo, Malawi, Ethiopia and Nigeria. He is a passionate advocate of sustainable solutions to close the economic gap between many developed and developing countries and became involved in Grow Movement as a result. Laurent is a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group and has a Masters in Strategic Management from HEC Paris and a BA in Economics and Management from Oxford University.
Keith has been a non-executive director of Antler, a leading British luggage manufacturer, and Salvere, a social enterprise focused on developing solutions around personalised care for the care industry. A South African by birth, Keith has lived in the UK since 1999. He has a Masters in Industrial Engineering and is also an alumnus of the London Business School where he has completed a programme in Corporate Finance.
Nick joined Grow Movement as a volunteer consultant in 2013. Having grown up in Tanzania, Kenya and Zimbabwe, Nick has a strong affinity to Africa and is passionate about being able to contribute to the continent fulfilling its potential. Nick has worked in finance and consulting, working for international organisations and running global teams. In 2013, he co-founded Trade Horizons to help SMEs to expand internationally. Nick holds dual undergraduate degrees from the Politecnico di Torino and Brighton University and an MBA from London Business School.
Violet initiated Grow Movement in Uganda with Chris Coghlan in 2010. As an immensely talented young professional, she has been the force behind expanding Grow Movement into Rwanda and Malawi in 2012 and is key to its success. During her time at Grow Movement she helped to create over 500 jobs across the countries Grow operates in. She now leads our operations in Rwanda.
Hendricah Rita is an experienced Senior Director Of Operations with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit organization management industry. Skilled in Analytical Skills, Management, Interviewing, Data Analysis, and Quantitative Research. Strong business development professional with a Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science focused in Educational Statistics and Research Methods from Makerere University.
Aoibheann Rogers is a marketing and business professional who has worked in Australia, Asia, UK and Africa in a variety of functions including Sales & Marketing, Corporate Strategy and Commercial Project Management. Aoibheann joined Grow Movement in 2015 as a Volunteer Consultant during the Uganda600 program, working with an inspiring young entrepreneur named Jesca. She is a strong believer in enabling people to help themselves and their communities by providing the right frameworks and support. Aoibheann holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) and Asian Studies (Indonesian) from Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia.
